About PAPA
My darling husband Paul and I created this school to provide the highest quality drama education to local children and adults alike. When Paul passed away in the spring of 2012, I thought the best way to honour him as the wonderful teacher, performer and friend to the community that he truly was, was to carry on bravely. I’d love you to come and see what we built together.
The mission of The Peterborough Academy of Performing Arts is to provide the highest caliber of education in the performing arts to students of all ages and experience, so that they may achieve their fullest potential as artists, and community members.
P.A.P.A. will provide an educational environment that fosters the artistic, intellectual, and personal growth of its students and prepares them for the next level of their artistic education.
P.A.P.A. will engage renowned faculty members in many disciplines, by providing a collaborative work environment and involving them fully in the artistic and educational life of the community.
P.A.P.A. is committed to uphold the diversity of the community by fostering an environment that is inclusive, supportive, and welcoming to all.

Thank you to The Fabulous Theatre Guild for providing us with everything we needed to create 2 GREAT PAPACAMPS! Thanks to parents, councillors and mostly THESE AMAZING KIDS! Enjoy this Video showcasing the fun we share!

Improv is an excellent foundation for gaining confidence, encouraging teamwork, sharing ideas, and taking creative risks in an environment that is safe to do so. Through a series of easy to learn spontaneity games, your kids will quickly surprise you, but mostly they will surprise themselves. Improv is a skill your children will take with them and utilize, whatever path they choose.

ROWAN LAMOUREUX
I shall be your guide for this evening.
I am what some would describe as a “P.A.P.A Lifer”, having taken classes of Improv, Musical Theatre, Voice Acting, Stage Acting, and many more underneath the P.A.P.A roof! Starting very early on I became an assistant for March Breaks and Summer Camps, and have long kept my reputation of the biggest kid in the room.
Nothing makes me happier than passing on the knowledge I’ve gotten from P.A.P.A onto the next generation of actors. It’s a magical building, and a magical school, I can’t wait for you to fall in love with it just as I have!

MACKENZIE
Mackenzie has been involved in theatre for 15 years in a variety of ways. Mackenzie was on stage with UBC opera students in productions of The Magic Flute, Carmen. She was also fortunate enough to be involved with a world premier musical The Selfish Giant, and coauthored the Christmas show Elijah’s Angel at Westben Arts Theatre. She pursued an interest in American Sign Language (ASL), taking certification courses at Fleming College, and put her own unique twist on it by putting interpretive sign to a variety of musical genres. Mackenzie is excited to be able to open this opportunity up to others and share her passion for music and Sign.

SAMANTHA
Samantha has been involved with arts productions since her elementary school days. She has been on stage and behind stage in a variety of ways. Her experience teaching music in the classroom encompasses all grade levels and styles from choral and a variety of instruments, to rhythm and movement. This and her private music studio allows her to blend her love of different musical genres and and individual learning styles. Samantha has created and directed numerous productions with her students, with the goal of her students being able to take pride and ownership in their accomplishments.
